I just came across this photo. The only comment I can think of is, "wow", and not wow in a good way.
“George Braunsdorf, left, 6 feet 4 inches and Joe Damone, 5 feet 1 inch, demonstrate a pipe called the “Double Ender” in New York, June 2, 1949. According to its manufacturer, the pipe was designed as a means of conserving tobacco by a couple of pipe smokers down on their luck, or, sharing a smoke at a ball game.”Silence is Golden, but duct tape is Silver.

Thanked: 101This afternoon it was "Captain's Choice" in the Spitfire. Nice sweet bold tobacco. The pipe itself had some precharred coating in it that I sanded out and it seems to smoke better. Also the vent hole in the bottom of the bowl was obstructed with wood splinters. I chased the hole with a drill bit and the draw is a lot better now.

Knowing that you are a fancing Russian/eastern European recipes, you should visit Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia or Poland sometimes. I've always wondered how people eat goulash so much there. It seems to be the main course on almost every restaurant or roadside bar.
Of course, a sure sign of a decent roadside bar/restaurant is when there's a lot of trucks parked outside.Last edited by Sailor; 03-25-2013 at 10:43 PM.
