Thanks fellas. At the moment I seem to be on top of the health issues. The meds are working well, I've started a daily PT program and I'm watching what I eat so the blood pressure and glucose levels are both dropping pretty dramatically. Conquering that challenge seems to simply be a matter of continuing to do what I'm doing now until I'm unfat and then I suspect many if not most of the medical issues will be resolved.

The family stuff, well that's a problem that may be filed under the "stuff I wish was different but have no power to change" category. We'll see. Thanks again for your well wishes.

Good to know if it all has really turned better now. You surely have been in our minds lately, GI!

Here's my late saturday eve home coming pipe. J.F Germain's Best Brown #2 from Svenborg pipe. Good stuff. Vintage Finnish pipe tobacco tin 'Malta 5'.

Coyet Ale from Sveaborg brewery. Got a change to visit there while being at work this week. After trying several + too many pints with some work mates one evening off ship i decided to get few bottles home as well. Few bottles for wife as a souvenir and one for myself too.

On the porch now with some Mac Baren Virginia No. 1 in my sandblast egg with stab stem. Got the tin from a shop I found on the way to my nephew's birthday party. It was in a strip mall and catered to the hookah crowd, but he did have Mac Baren, Gawith, and Sutliff blends there. I kinda like the Mac Baren........

Funny...out of all the different tobaccos I have tried so far, I always seem to come back to MacBaren as my go to and it's not so much the blend as it is the brand. I just really like their style I guess you could say.

VA No.1 is a great tobacco. Doesn't seem to get as much appreciation as some other VAs.

If only those pipes were really black like that...it makes them rather attractive like that. They were attractive in color just the same though to clear that up.
