You may not feel it immediately, but you'll wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if you've just clenched your tongue in your teeth.

Thanks for the advice. I did read that somewhere. I will try and be careful when I start. It will certainly be hard, as I am only used to smoking cigs. I think that is part of the reason I don't enjoy cigars, as that too requires some different technique. I will update you guys once I order a pipe and tobacco. Thanks!

    EdG,

There's a difference between pipe and cigarettes. At least smoking cigarettes was more like a regular habit several times a day. Your mind gets used to certain everyday situations when you have learned to pick a cigarette. Not even for nicotine but just because it's routine. At least that was the case with me.

It took some time to find out that i do not need to smoke my pipe that often. Now i haven't smoked cigarettes for about 5 years or so. Little by little i just gave them up and one day i decided that now they are long gone for me.
Maybe the hardest part was the first smoke in the morning but at first i borrowed one from my wife. Then i gave it up too.

After few weeks without cigs and i never got back. I've tasted cigarettes for few times after that but couldn't finish because they taste like paper and not real tobacco at all.

In rare cases when i cannot smoke my pipe i rather take snus or snuff, Wilsons of Sharrow usually, but that doesn't happen too often.

If you want to quit cigarettes it is surely worth trying. You cannot lose. Even few weeks without them and you surely know the difference.

A Bill Taylor built Ashton LX Old Church poker and an Upshall G poker. The Upshall is a similar shape to a Charatan, where the Upshall carvers originally came from, many years ago.

Those thick walls really give a look of real old school pipes. They look great, Jimmy. Specially that Upshall.

After my first day at the new job I'm sitting back, watching a little Doctor Who, sipping a little earl grey and having a bowl of OJK in the benton. Have a great day gents.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine
