I have not posted pic's lately because I have been so busy. I figured something out last night while looking online for a possible other pipe. (I did not find one and will stick with the now 7 pipes, and an 8th that will arrive in a few months) The first pipe I ordered from an online vendor was a Peterson Shannon, billiard style. The pipe that was shipped was a Peterson Rosslare, billiard style, which is a much nicer looking pipe with a sterling silver band and a beautiful arcrylic stem. I started the process of breaking in the pipe when it arrived, so it's too late to send it back. I am very happy with it and I love the way it burns tobacco. I guess I just lucked out with the vendor's error, and as a noob to pipes, I did not recognize the mistake when it was received. I will try to start posting some pics of my pipes and tobacco. I am enjoying them so far, and more so with each bowl, which is about 2-3 bowls per week.

What are you smoking when you get the chance to enjoy a bowl?

Peterson Irish Whiskey and University Flake, SG Full Virginia Flake, and Escudo. I like them all. I have a tin of SG Squadron Leader that I have yet to try. I will give it a shot this Saturday while playing in a fundraiser golf tournament.

You know you're doing something very wrong when you're too busy to smoke. Unfortunately over the last several days I've not slowed down enough for a smoke break so most of my vitamin N has been smokeless. That's a situation I'm now prepared to remedy with some Squadron Leader in a 7769 Kaywoodie

I also find aromatics lacking on several fronts. I prefer the stouter tobacco flavored tobacco, I'm generally not a huge fan of heavy latakia blends but there are exceptions. If you're a cigar smoker with a taste for latakia I'd recommend C&D Billy Budd. It's a burley blend with lots of latakia and maduro cigar leaf, very nice! And of course everyone should smoke C&D Old Joe Krantz, it's as full, delicious and cigary as any pipe tobacco I've ever smoked. Don't know if Canadians are raped as hard by customs as those over the pond but if it's not too expensive, I'm sure you'd be impressed by both of these blends.

Oh Yeah: Something else I've toyed with a bit is smoking cigar butts in a pipe. It's not as bad as you probably think. I've done it with many La Aroma De Cubas and Brickhouse Mighty Mightys and it really is a nice smoke:
    1. Smoke the cigar as normal
    2. Cut the char of the butt with a cigar cutter
    3. Let it de-funk for a couple days
    4. Rub out the butt on a paper towel
    5. Lock, Load and Enjoy

I can usually get 3 or 4 large bowls out of an average sized but. This way you're not wasting anything either. I dunno, I dig it. Wow! #4 sounds dirty

You got me started on it some time ago an now I've got two roommates doing it. One of them is still resisting the briar...but soon hell realize resistance is futile and to give into the briar. It's kind of entertaining, one smokes light aromatics, one likes heavy English blends and then there's me bouncing between burley, university and navy flake.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

    Devilpup,
Nice to see you preachin the gospel and reaching some of the younger guys. This is what will keep pipe smoking alive.

Last night's pipe was a basket briar mini with "Shortcut To Mushrooms" while reading the Dietrich Bonhoeffer story.
