Leaving for an early morning golf tournament, a fundraiser for my son's high school football program. I will start breaking in this pipe, a Vauen, with some new to me Squadron Leader. I tend to smoke a pipe when I'm doing stuff, like maintenance on our cars, tinkering with my motorcycle, or doing yard work, so I'm interested to see what it's like to swing a club while enjoying a smoke. You all have a good day!

Now you will get an eagle...the golf gods will be impressed by the pipe and smile upon you. Think positive !

Thanks Nightblade. It was a scramble format, so our foursome had some birdies, and ALMOST had an eagle on one of the par fives. I smoked a couple of 1/2 bowls in the 4+ hours of play. Having a smoking pipe in my mouth helped relax me during my swing because I did not want to clench too hard on the stem in fear I would break it like crunching down on a hard candy, and that totally helped my swing. Anyhow, it was enjoyable, got a few questions about the pipe, a lot of looks, looks that I interpreted as "ahh, wish I had a pipe!"

No booze at this tournament as it was a high school football fundraiser, and the players were working the tournament. I'm guessing there may have been more smoking, like cigars, had there been booze, as I have seen in my experience.

BTW, I forgot the tamper in the pic, left it on the nightstand, so I used a tee, worked just fine.

Ah ha ! you see...the gods were pleased. Almost an eagle is getting there. They're liking it. It's gonna happen and your gonna light up a bowl with a swagger and grin and say....Thanks NB !

For the last few days we've been celebrating midsummer solstice, or Juhannus, Mittumar, nightless night. Absolutely the biggest and least commercial celebration here. Wifey and i had no big parties, probably we're too old for that, but we had some family friends with their wives from my army days to spend a nice midsummer time.

Today the midsummer celebrations are over so me & wifey just spend some midnight time at the neighborhood, hills behind our house. For my midnight pipe i had some Best Brown flakes from Norup of Denmark. And what's best: tomorrow will be the 1st day of my 6 week vacation ta-da.
