Wow....you'd think so huh ? Interesting thought. That Valley pic reminds me so much of Michigan where I grew up.

Sailor.....after retiring the Navy, you should start your own business running a retirement home for Nature sick old American Farts . I think I could die happy there. Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound so morbid. But it really is pretty there. Make sure to let the Board know that in your report.

It's called hay pole. Traditional way to stack hay. Not so common these days but still in use in some places where farmers do not want to use any engines or so. Hand made stacks.

I have a newly opened tin of Cornell & Diehl opening night that I just don't care much for. I've smoked 3 bowls out of it. If any one is interested in a trade or just wants it pm me and I'll send it out.

Another no pipe entry, but smokingpipes.com has Cornell & Diehl bulk tobacco on sale for 20% off through the end of September and they carry 84 of their blends in bulk. Have 4 pounds of Exclusive in my shopping cart now. Free shipping if order is over $95. Just like SRD, I don't work for them, just give them my money.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You gents really enjoy your pipes. I love the smell of that pipe smoke, but I have never smoked myself. I guess working in the medical field you get to much back rap from the non smoking world.
As soon as I get over my SR addiction and spending my money on shaving products I will have to get myself a nice pipe to smoke after a nice shave and a smooth women.

How much can you expect t pay for a decent pipe?

You can pay as little as $5.00 to $5,000.00+...

As a new beginner, I would recommend a MM Cob for a first pipe... They have some nice shapes, bowl sizes and if pipe smoking isn't for you, you haven't invested a lot of money in it...

Also, there is no break in period, all tobacco smokes well in them, there is no real science (stuff & puff) and you can customize them with a nice stem...
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...
