Just getting back into my late night smoking regimen. Tonight it happened to be GL Pease Maltese Falcon in my Peterson Killarney. I tend to favor this pipe alot due to its generous bowl. I also gave a quick cleaning to my couple of pipes I used some black rum to see what would happen. Enjoy your bowls gentlemen. Good night.

The owner of the W.O. Larsen pipe shop in Copenhagen was Ole Larsen, that's all I know. He had several of the soon to be very important Danish pipe makers, making pipes for him.

No secrets at all, just Bicardi 151 (can't get full strength Everclear in Michigan). Went through a full pack of BJ Long tapered bristled cleaners and half a pack of standard tapered cleaners.

A good bowl reaming and then a little shank brush with alcohol followed by the bristled cleaners in alcohol, until they come out clean, or almost, always get some discoloration coming from the alcohol that seeps into the bowl but you can tell by the color when the shank is clear.

I double over a bristled cleaner, dipped in alcohol for the rim and just polish with that until clean. Usually just rub the bowl on my cheek afterwards to get some oil back, not much of a waxing guy. The rusticated bowl tops usually get a tooth brush and alcohol cleaning to get them cleaned up.

Stems are just alcohol and bristled cleaners, then rubbed out as the briar is with a micro fiber cloth.

All pretty much like the bore of a gun, alcohol bristled followed by alcohol dipped tapered cleaners followed by dry tapered cleaners in shank and stems.

If you don't neglect them for as long as I have, it goes pretty quick. This time, it is taking me quite a while, the worst one was about half an hour, the cleanest about five minutes.

No big deal, just takes some time.
