My first sale shipment arrived from smokingpipes.com. 4 pounds of exclusive and a half pound of Mountain Camp (an English blend). Need to get the Exclusive in mason jars for cellaring. Virginia/Perique's are so much better after aging.

Have to get another order in this month while the sale is still on.

Funny that I have convinced myself for no particular reason that I need a nice big Billiard with a military stem P.A.D is trying to take hold.

Question about aging tobacco in mason jars. Do people use some kind of humidification widget when doing so?

So,let me amend that statement. It looks like you fancy English....here is a must try then IMHO. Boswells Northwoods. Welcome to Boswells

    Fantastic smoke !
At this point in my limited experience I have no prejudice about the few I tried. Every one is new, enjoyable and interesting.

Nope, it should store at the same humidity as it was cellared at... Hope that helps...

Make sure you date the jar...

Used to smoke cigars, maybe few times a year. lately not even that much. Dunno why, they are ok but not maybe just my case.
But never say never. In fact i did smoke Cubans with my son few months ago. It was a gift from him.

But now we go with late evening pipe. Germain's 1820 from Nanna Ivarsson. A shot of Khortytsa from Ukraine.

As far as cellaring in Mason jars, I do not put anything in with the tobacco but pack it in very, very tightly and fill the jar fully. My wife is going to try vacuum sealing some in a food saver bag as an experiment.

As NoseWarmer said, remember to date the jar.

    +1

I store my baccos with all kinds of glassware that's left from kitchen. Wash them with chlorite before using.
Never had any problems with humidity.

The rule of thumb seems to be the older the better. Except with some aromatics with heavy candy topping.

Tried the Mountain Camp this afternoon, very nice. Forgot how a really big change in tobacco really wakes up your taste buds.
