A 33 would have been the last number that would have come to mind, great pipe.

Just finished a bowl of Engine 99 in a traditional Castello 33 Sea Rock while doing a complete honing on a Ralf Aust 7/8 Spanish Point Horn that I've had for about 6 months and have never been satisfied with the edge. Dulled it, then the 1,3,5,8 & 12k Nani's. 20 laps on linen and 80 on leather. Had a 2 1/2 day growth to test it on. Absolutely the best edge I have ever shaved with. Super excited as I've only been honing about a year and had quite the ah hah moment about a week ago, it's like all has changed.

Celebrating now with Bayou Morning in a little Black Sea Rock.

Also, this is a traditional 33.

Broke out my Missouri Meerschaum with some Borkum Riff Cherry Cavendish.

Got some lovely weather here and got tradesmen tearing out my kitchen so I'm getting to chill in the garden.

How is the Haunted Bookshop? Saw a tin at the local shop, but hesitant. Heard it kicks like a mule from high vit N.

I really like The Haunted Bookshop. I have a high tolerance for vit N, so I can't speak to that.

Oh I think if Haunted Bookshop kicks like a mule Old Joe Krantz is more like a 20 mule team. Both similar blends Mostley Burley VA Perique I think some Cavendish is in there somewhere. Nic doesnt bother me but I get the hicups sometimes so I know its there. Very tasty and satisfying both of them.
HB Nutty rounded with sweet and spice it has complexity OJK is just more of a good thing IMO.
If that sounds up your alley I recommend them both.

I've gotten the hiccups from some blends too. Funny, but when I first gave up the Camel non filters, after 36 years, I needed to chain smoke pipes with high nic tobaccos all my waking hours. Gradually I settled down, and now I chain smoke pipes with moderately strong tobaccos all my waking hours .......
