they make decent chips too if you can get the slices thin enough and bake them with a little seasoning

Thanked: 13246Loooook Loook!!!!
Got home from the Colorado trip and found stuff that I could actually pick and eat
That was the good news, the bad news is that we had quite the storm and now I have to figure out how to get this all the way down and safe
Luckily it fell away from the house rather then toward it
Guess the Wifey wasn't exaggerating when she told me one of the big trees came down

Got the tomatoes up off the ground finally - doh! and the peppers have taken off. I screwed up the seedlings and turns out i swapped my ghost peppers and devils tongue but now that they've started to ripen its clear which is which. (yellow devils tongue).
Also learned now that they've ripened that my brown habaneros are really just plain red ones not the special "chocolate" variety i paid for. So thats a wash but they're still tasty. Petter peppers, Cayenne peppers, and California bells are still chugging along; The only really edible ones, are not quite ready.
Anyone want some?

Whoops these are the ones that got away from me.
I also have a woodchuck who has made his home in my garden. Any ideas of bait for the live trap?? First try was an old rotten peach and I got a raccoon . Who wanted to eat me before I could spring the trap. Now I am replanting peas knowing he likes to eat those and putting the trap on top of the plants so he will go inside to get at the shoots. Momma in law kinda frowns on 22s and all especially in the city limits. I see her point on this one .

I did a quick search and found this. Groundhog Baits - How to Catch a Groundhog (Woodchuck) with Bait
Might just have to keep the trap set until you get it. Everything on that list a raccoon would go for also. Another site said to use what they have been eating out of your garden like you were thinking.
I have not trapped them before but my method of choice is a .17 hmr.

I use a .177 air rifle when its absolutely necessary, but generally you can catch anything with peanut butter and some bread.

All of you are spot on. Got to wait till my Mother-in-law leaves town in a week. No varmint is worth upsetting the whole family. Well my Pa will have to listen to it and I dont want him to have to eat crow because his boy went off the reservation. I did that enough in my younger years. Local wisdom says to block off one of his two holes, Pour a gallon of bleach down open hole and when he pops up give him what you men have suggested. Keep in mind I live in city limits residential 1/2 acre yards fully occupied neighborhood with kids. Responsibility has to rule,,but I am itching to follow your lead. thanks to all.
