Thanked: 13246I swear I can't figure Idaho out
We have lived here for 12 years now, when we first moved in I said to the wife, "Damn this looks like there would be a million Rabbits living here" 10 years and never saw a one not even dead on the hiway..
2 years ago we get 1 rabbit in the back yard, we figured it was a domestic escapee from a Neighbors hutch..
Last night at dusk the wife says "Come quick that doesn't look like Flopsy" (yes she names everything) I look out and tell her that I think she may be right but it is pretty dark and I honestly wasn't sure..
Today I walk out the front door and head to the shop and Zing 2 rabbits run around the corner of the fence, I smile and call her to let her know she was right..
She gets home tonight and in the last hour we have seen 5 rabbits in the yard...
I am thinking I need to re-think the "Deer" fence now hehehe
I am convinced that they sent out the word amoungst the Rabbit Folk that Glen is trying to grow a garden hehehehe

Garden update: All of my plants are in and except for the jalapeƱos and banana peppers everything is doing great. I think I need to buy some of the hot peppers and get them put in between the ones I started so I at least have some. My tomatoes are looking strong, time to get the tripods over them to tie them to. The cauliflower and broccoli, I had to purchase these since the ones I planted from seed just didn't look strong at all, are looking great. All of my beans came up along with the summer squash, zucchini, and pumpkins. My onion set is up and growing wonderfully, well as far as I know since I have never grown them before.
Weeding is not as labor intensive as I imagined it would be. It takes about six hours spread out over a few days every two weeks or so. I decided to not put grass clippings between every row and am happy that I only did half of it this way. I found that the clippings did keep the weeds down but the ones that did grow are more time consuming to pull instead of just breaking up the ground with a garden claw and picking the weeds out of the loose dirt.
My 9 month old son was out with me tonight playing in the yard and crawled over to the garden and pulled a weed. He then proceeded to show it who the boss is and started to eat it. Now to get him to keep it up as he gets older. Well the pulling of weeds not the eating.

Thanked: 13246Wow Green Stuff !!!!
So last week through Sun we had pretty much solid rain, then since Mon we have warmed up into the low 80's which for us is on the warm side
The garden exploded in the last 10 days seems like everything grew, maybe it was that with the rain I wasn't going out there everyday
Our first Tomatoes of the year came out
Out in the yard we have Wild Strawberries that have survived the last 12 years of my best attempts to kill every thing in the yard but the grass
Next year if all goes as planned I am going to try and move some into the fenced garden and see if they will grow higher and bigger..
