Im not trying to be an ass or anything like that but now that you mention snow...I cant remember what snow looks like.. Even up towards Tahoe. Its high 30's?? Id freeze. Put your peps in a cup inside so they can sprout.
My son just texted me and said they flooded the fields up in chico.
Now Ima confused cause Sac is dry. Btw..Its 100 degs + every day in Chico and Sac. this time of year for those who dont know. Where im at its about 70-80 on the coast. I live on the coast. Tired of the heat. Bakersfield is totally dead dry. Somethings not right.

Thanked: 2027No Rice pads around here this year,no water,is very intersting to read every day in the farm reports about who gets water and who will not.
Some of the water rights (riparian rgts) go back 100 yrs, some get water, some do not.
Something is not right for sure,Calif 200 yrs ago was chaperral and desert, same as mexico.
We made it into something it was not meant to be.
Am reading a great book on the dust bowl, the farmers plowed under 300 million acres of pristine natural grass to plant wheat, than they had a 10 year drought, wheat went from $2 a bushel to 6 cents,80 years later the land still has not recovered.
calif is in dire straights.Last edited by pixelfixed; 06-02-2014 at 02:29 AM.

They sell the purple cauliflower as organic. Its just sunburnt. Tastes the same...but sunburnt. Actually it looks kinda cool..but sunburnt. My dad is a welder at a produce cooler. He welds giant produce vacume tubes. Cooled by ammonia. Ive worked there in the daytime. The smell is horrible. He taps his 51 Gillette DE on the sink bowl .

Thanked: 13246Update from the Northwoods
Well we are for sure having fun, have no clue what we are doing but we are having fun and learning a bit here and there
The Garlic from "my oh so smart at this neighbor" seems to be doing well, along with the Shallot and Red Onion starts she sent home with me
Our Beets, Pumpkins, Carrots, Spinach, Peppers, and Lettuce starts that we had done in the house all died off the first night we put them out
The good news is that the replants we did in the garden all have popped and seem to be doing Ok, fingers crossed on them.
The Tomatoes are doing well
The wife snagged some Cucumber, Cherry Pepper, and Eggplant starts from the Farmer's Market and they seem to be doing fine..
We also transplanted some of the Rhubarb that grows wild all over and have moved a couple into the corner of the garden to see what happens.
ps: No Deer have been caught in the Bambi trap so far

Hey Glen,
Are those tomato supports the heavy duty kind or the bendy junk I'm about to throw in the pond?
