Yes, it's that reliable. I have literally tried to make it jam, none to date & after today or tomorrow I should be at around 1K rounds thru it (mostly winchester ball in the white 100 round box). I've stacked the mag with mixed ammo from 185 gr hp to 230 gr ball, ran it dirty, ran it dry from lubrication, shot it limp wristed...no problems at ALL. I chose it over the colt because of the rounded edges, but I can't speak for the 3" colts reliability. Only ftf's were ammo related & those have only happened twice. Once was a true squib load with what I would assume zero powder and the other was just a little powder...both from bulk ammo & not self-defense rounds. Bullet left the bbl, but I was surprised in both cases...expected to have to ram out the stuck bullet. Carry's very well in super-tuck at about 4 o-clock. My only beef with it is the finish on the aluminum frame marks easily...dropped it one day on some rocks and put the first real marks on it. I may have the frame cerakoted one day, but I doubt it as it's a carry gun/shooters gun and not purchased to "collect". This gun has earned it's place as my primary carry with a naa pug in .22mag as back-up/last resort.
Awsome. Do you carry ball or hp? How's the recoil on the defense loads? I figure they're pretty snappy. I've been drooling over a new 1911 for a good while and been debating the 3"vs the 4". I just wish the darn things weren't so expensive.

Defense rounds are no worse than a Glock 26 with 124gr +P loads. The kimber has a aluminum frame with lots of stipling front and back, heavier than normal bbl, and a stainless slide. Overall though, loaded, I swear that it's lighter than the G26. If you want to make a trip to SE Oklahoma, I will let you decide by shooting 3,4,5" 1911's. The 4" slide for my Springfield should be on it's way back from Trijicon this week or at the latest next week.

I hope you guys aren't having the tough time I am finding ammo right now...just burned thru 250 rounds at the range and I may have to get back to reloading, can't get into my "stores".

The barrel is threaded and I would love to get one. I will need to apply for a $200 government "tax stamp" and wait 6+ months before I can actually buy a suppressor. It's going to cost way more than the gun did.

I've only tried the one with the suppressor built in, "dog gun".
"- Dog gun, cool, I love dogs!" ehhh, not the smartest comment!
