John ,
i figured you would have came back with the 3" shells ..lol...
the walmart by me only has the winchester standard 00 .. those have a paper wad and not much of a buffer to hold the pellets tight therefore in most smooth bore barrels the pattern is blown out pretty fast ... 20yds is my max distance in house leaving those shells a little to spread for me ..
those federals and hornadys with the flight control wad give you that little extra yardage .. i want me every pellet to on target and a even bigger hole if the attacker decides to charge ..lol..

I highly recommend PAST Field Recoil Pad Shield Ambidextrous
Tamed my 45-70 down to where it is enjoyable to shoot a 405 grain cast boolit.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
