Thanked: 131My wife was the oe who got me into it in the first place! She was getting cheesed off that I was only shaving with my Crap3 once a week. She got me a book as a joke about shaving to encourage me to shave more often. The joke was on her though because since then i've taken up straight razor shaving in a big way. She tries to roll her eyes but I always point out that 'You wanted me to shave like this dear' and if she is being honest, she does love the smoothness.

Thanked: 11Mine thinks it is absolutley crazy. Not normal to be so obsessed. Do I really have to spend so much time shaving.....?!
Says she who spends an hour a day putting on makeup, hair care, painting nails etc, etc, etc........
Which is more normal I ask myself.........
Keep doing it guys...

SWMBO thinks I am insane on one level, but she told me that she completely understands the pampering thing. What's more, she requested the URL's of some online shaving stores recently!
I think I'll keep her. I hope she keeps me!

My wife thinks it's a great hobby, and looks forward to the after-shave part when I'm BBS, and smell good...that is, if I use her favourite soap and ASB...if I use Bay Rum or Old Spice, she's not as thrilled.
She thinks my restoration is nuts though - so much time and money for razors, she thinks!
...and I think she also thinks that being on an internet forum discussing shaving is nuts as well...

SWMBO is just incredible, that's why I married her!
I always had problems when shaving thanks to me sensitive skin... and she decided me to try to use a shaving cream and a brush with my Mach3 (I had already quitted my electric lawn mower after the army); a real improvement! After a few months, my shaves were a lot better but still not a very comfortable shave.
She tried to help me - even more than saying nothing when I was trying and stealing some of her face creams - and had a look on the internet and pointed me to Mantic's videos and B&B. As I wanted to try a DE, she offered me for my birthday the Merkur Vision...
After that, I discovered SRP and straight razor shaving. RAD hit me quite hard but - despite the quite bad state of our finances - she never complained, but was happy to see that I was enjoying shaving and collecting (even if at the beginning she thought I was a little nuts because I ordered 3 razors before trying). The same goes as far as restoration is concern: she is happy that I found a hobby.
She is a real pearl!

Thanked: 953I don't care what she thinks. See "I don't want to buy a minivan" thread in Conversation Forum.
She doesn't overly care about the razors but gets very ****ed off when I spend a lot of time honing a difficult one. And she totally doesn't understand the euphoria on the rare occasions I get it right.
