I'm pushing 63 and have attained geezerhood. One of my very very few regrets in this life is that I waited until I was 62 before starting shaving with a straight. Now you kids get off of my lawn!!

I'm 44 now, but my first (disastrous) shave was when I was 15 with my dad's without him knowing it; because of my unskilled hands back then had to turn into disposables... but about a year and a half I re-entered successfully with the invaluable help of SRP... and now I'm an addict!!!!
Cheers!!!

I just turned 60 this past June. Began straight razor shaving last December.

Just a bit past 54.
Gave straight shaving a try about 25 years ago with little success (little knowledge of sharpening etc.) so the love affair did not last long but the desire was ever present.
Re-ignited the flame this past November after acquiring a couple of decent razors and getting properly equipped. I kept my old DE but it sits idle on the shelf anymore.
I straight shave almost every day and find the process a most enjoyable adventure.

Thanked: 235I'm 34 this year.
I had my last shave with a Mach 3 on new years eve 2008. That night my in-laws broke the mirror and I wasn't able to shave for a couple of days. When I eventualy bought another mirror I decided to try a straight and so bought a heap of single use disposable razors. I already had a cheap shaving brush and shaving soap. From there on it only got better, but there is still a lot to learn.

Hi Cayne,
I'm 57 years young and have been straight razor shaving since February. My love affair with straight razors began when I was five years old and my father brought me to the barber shop around the corner for my first hair cut. I was so amazed at how the barber could use his "sharp knife" to trim the hairs on the back of my neck so smooth without cutting me. Fear and ignorance kept me separate from my true love for the next 52 years, but I'm making up for the lost time now!
Namaste,
Morty -_-
