Default Favourite straights scenes in movies

I saw Gary Oldman as Dracula the other night, there is a scene where Keanu Reeves cuts himself with a straight, Oldman takes the razor off him and licks the blade clean behind Reeve's back, , a little bizarre how he does this but absolutely quality acting.

You don't see to many straight razors in the movies or on TV, my question would be, what Movie is your favourite scene from, and if possible why" ?
    ( 2 questions then ).

Just got a bit of time to kill, and this sprang to mind .

    Cheers

In 'The Untouchables' when the barber is shaving Al Capone (De Niro) and he nicks him with the straight.

Also noticed in "Rambo - First Blood Pt1" when Rambo gets arrested the deputy tries to shave him with a straight (and has a mug/brush in his hand), Rambo has a 'Nam flashback and freaks out.

    Can't think of any others....

A friend recently turned me on to Deadwood, which lead to a marathon two weeks of watching all three seasons, and there a few scenes where people are just finishing shaving , or about to start shaving with, but no one ever actually shaves. There are, however, a couple of instances where a straight razor is used to other ends.

It's not exactly a movie, but there's a great scene in "Sweeney Todd" where Benjamin Barker engages Senor "Danny" Pirelli in a shaving competition. In the version I saw, he uses the HHT on the razor before beginning the shave.

There's also a great scene where a customer comes in with his little daughter so Sweeney has to actually shave him -- he looks so disappointed (Sweeney, not the customer).

I will most likely leave myself open to embarassing questions regarding my taste in movies (it's mainly the wife - yes, that will do...), but in the interests of academic and scholarly exchange...

I'm sure I saw straights in Zorro Returns - precise details escape my mind right now. Also, and I know this is technically not cutthroats, I feel as an Antipodean I must mention (or at least get in the first sardonic swipe) Crocodile Dundee (cringe). The memorable scene where Mick Dundee swaps his disposable for a hunting knife as the beautiful heroine approaches the campsite. Actually, that gives me an idea for a new signature - "That's not a straight. THIS is a straight!"

Two come to mind. The stooges short where Curly shaves himself on the train and licks the blade . Then says "I look more and more like Barrymore." Btw, I think that's Drew Barrymore's Grandfather(?) John he's looking at in the picture. Doesn't he shave a potato too? (I may have my stooges episodes mixed so correct me if I'm wrong.) The second is High Plains Drifter or maybe some other Clint spaghetti western where he is getting a shave and shoots three hombres.

Ah yes, this was the cheap ripoff of the scene in KEY LARGO where Edward G. Robinson is getting a straight razor shave from one of his henchmen. He's talking the whole time and smoking a cigar. You're just WAITING for him to get nicked. It doesn't happen. Very Hitchcockian. Although the movie was directed by John Huston.

An old "Twighlight Zone" episode with Charles Bronson playing the part of a soldier. It appears as though he actually knew how to shave with a straight. One of my pet peaves is when I see an actor "using" a straight and it's obvious he doesn't know how.

The Dali movie when the fellow cuts open the beautiful girls eyeball is kind of neat, though not for the weak stomached.

And Murder In the First, when the prison warden cuts open Kevin Bacon's achilles tendon. Ouch.

Apparently they're coming out with a new version of Sweeny Todd, with Johnny Depp as the barber.
