Guys - as I suggested before - gonnae gie the raffle thing a hit on the head via this thread. I am getting bored of it by now - no doubt the rest of the membership are too. It will be sorted for the day and will work just fine. I have organised **** ups in breweries before and everbody was happy Anybody who doesn't like it will be dealt with by Spike.
This meet is just that - a chance to meet, socialise and gain from others experiences. Lets not fret about rafflfe details.

Thanked: 0Having not had a chance to post in about a week I have enjoyed all the ideas for the raffle in one go and can't really object to anyone. I mostly agree with the last idea though, take part and enjoy the day, sounds good to me.
I have been trying to work out a way to give everyone who wants it a sample of CrOx without just putting it in a food bag. It is an eBay special but does seem to have been improving my otherwise inconsistent shaving efforts. I'll take suggestions if anyone wants to give them.
I'm also debating the merits of paying for hold luggage on my flight down from Aberdeen, not sure a quantity of suspicious looking green powder is the ideal hand baggage.
I am really looking forward to the chance to meet some fellow SRP members and hoping I pick up some tips, tricks and techniques.
A big thank you to all who are organising

A Bug In The Ointment!!!
Ok Gents, we have just found out that the Hare & Hounds DOESN'T actually do food, but they will kindly let you order food from a local take-away and have it delivered to the Pub!!!!
I think Morturn's local knowledge is needed here as we will need somewhere close to chow down before freshen up and hitting the town.

SIlver - sorry I seem to have got that wrong but if you take a look at the bottom left of this page - The Hare & Hounds: pub and live music venue in Kings Heath, Birmingham - it does say they do! Must be a ballhog in the woodpile, eh?

Thanked: 16If you look at the food link on the home page you get this
"Food at the Hare & Hounds is sourced from the finest local suppliers and delivered fresh to the pub. Cuisine on offer includes Singaporean & Malaysian, modern & classic Jamaican and Bangladeshi."
so it looks like they order from local take aways

Pub News...
Given that the Hare & Hounds only do take out food, I had a quick gander on Google. It seems to me that take aways should be left to the end of the evening.
There is a Wetherspoons, The Pear Tree, within 500 yards of the hall. I believe that this would be our best choice. They serve a variety of food at a reasonable price, as well as real ale The added bonus is that they will not be swamped if everyone comes from the hall. I would ring them to make sure in any case. There is another pub, the Goose & Granite, a similar distance away. Problem is, I have not been able to get hold of them...
There are other pubs further away. Do we really want to waste energy & more importantly drinking time getting to them though?

A main meal and two or three beers would be grand at the Pear Tree I am sure. Wetherspoons are usually reasonably priced, large venues so prob quite suitable? I am fine with that. I am aware, however, that I do want to get back to the hotel in the centre with my sharp gear before too late on - for obvious reasons...
cheers
