Thanks English. Absolutely, re pointing out things! This was the main reason I ever started this ball rolling as my knowledge of shaving like this is still only 9 months old. It's a lot better than it was and it has had its ups and downs but it is going to stay with me now. I had a bit of a slide with a nasty cheek cut that I managed to reopen a couple of weeks later but now the confidence is back, tempered with a tad more respect. It's been an enjoyable journey so far. I am a 'monkey see, monkey do' type and I know that I will go away from this day with a whole range of new thoughts and skills. I have never been in the company of anyone who shaves this way as yet. Soon will be though

    Sandy,

I'll organise the raffle for you on the day if that will help.

I suggest the prizes are put in numbered bags. One to ten or however many prizes there are. I'll bring some numbered bags. If you bring the prizes.

The tickets should be £ 5 pound each and each attendee can buy four maximum at the door. I'll bring a book of tickets.
That will be between about £100 and £400 for Charity based on the numbers attending at the moment.

The duplicate tickets can be folded and put in a hat and drawn whenever. First out of the hat gets the prize in bag one, etc.,etc.,

It would be best to sell the tickets as people arrive as this will take up less time.

The rules are simple no ticket, no prize. All prizes not collected by 5 pm on the day go into another raffle on another day.

If you really need help with name tags, I can make some tags and issue them to the arrivals on the day.

Let me know if this will help.

    Peter.

It sounds as if the raffle alone could take two hours. But to be honest, I don't need to go to Birmingham for a raffle however exciting the prizes are.

The event for me at least is an extension of the forum were members and invitees can learn and share straight razor expertise in a sociable and friendly environment and face to face. I'm sure that this is the essence of what the organisers have arranged.

I would deeply regret my attendance if the event is in any way just a sales jamboree. We can all use the Internet or go to Boot's for that.

Hey don't knock Boot's I believe they have a great one in Birmingham.

It's fine by me - however I now need to rethink my dress as I'm afraid our corsets may clash

    Peter-

This is a big help, thank you. I dont know about the numbered bags idea because i'm not sure everything will fit in a bag. Surely its easier to stil a number on each prize and then draw the numbers at the end? I think Silver also put herself forward for being on the door and since I may need to use Spike to run through our presentation when I get there I think that would be the two of you on door duty giving out name tags. Be sure to collect invites. If your names not down, you're not getting in.

The price per ticket seems about right. I would gladly pay £5-£20 for a prize! I agree with you also about selling tickets at the door. Looks like things are shaping up well.

    Sandy
