The pics aren't the best, I'm sorry. With the camera I have it's hard for me to capture to accurate colour. To me is a really light green, so I suppose it does have a bit of a yellow-ish hue to it. It may be a kiita, I honestly don't know. Here's a pic of it wet, the colour on my monitor seems to be fairly accurate. There's definitely no blue colour in it, just green with the brownish tinge at the bottom.

Some asagis are rather green, what matters the most is if the stone does the job for you.

Agreed. I personally couldn't care less what it's called. It's a beauty and gets the job done!

Does look a bit Kiita'ish to me as well, which is not a bad thing BTW!!

@jpcwon: Actually, when I saw your stone it kind of reminded me of mine, especially with the brownish area at the end. Definitely a nice looking stone you have and I hope it's working out for you. Alex definitely has some nice pickings.

Thanks! I am LOVING my stone...much faster & finer than the other JNATs I have...I find that I hardly even need to use my Mikawa nagura....the Tomo does the job just fine!! I am getting great edges from mine and I hope you're doing the same!!

Nothing new here but a pic of my stones now that they've been cleaned up a bit:

The Wakasa is one of the more yellowish specimens I've seen pics of, and the Shobu is very pale and uniform. The background stones are a Zulu Grey and a granite plate for film (shh...)

Really nice looking stones, very even in consistancy.

Thanks! When I look at stones, generally the ones that visually appeal to me most are those with some patterning or effect in them, such as this Shobu from Maksim's site:
6 Shuobudani type 100 - Japanese Natural Stones
(the patterning in that one makes me think of Jupiter), but the stones I purchase end up being very plain.
