The more I use the G.H., the more I like it.

I'm re-finishing the edge of all my razors on it, and the result is outstanding. Mirror edge comes really easily, and I don't use diamond paste anymore.

I'm feeling so far the grey hone as a pre-finishing one. Seems to work pretty fast too.

I'll have to test two similar razors with one finish on the grey hone and one on the G.H. to feel the difference of the edge on my skin.

How was they to hone jamie? I've read some find them tricky.
I've maintained my custom Mastro with regular stropping and cro ox so haven't had the need to do any real honing yet.

Not the easiest of razors to hone Mark to be honest but they finally succomb to my charms and took a very nice edge, I have honed many Livi razors including Damascus models which were pretty straight forward.

Steve The edge started to breakdown easy and feather off the 5K Chosera and I didn't want to set new bevels because they are fairly new razors, but sometimes you just have to go with your gut feelings so i just took them straight back to the 1K Chosera set new bevels then took them up the progression the edge finally held and I finally finished them on the 20K.

The Fox 44 is every bit as high quality a stone as a top shelf yellow green Escher.

They can be purchased for less than a labeled Escher and can be found in the "wild".

50 to 100 laps will improve most edges. I have spoiled my Tigers edge. Keep on honing. MIke

Autumn is coming in the Southeast gentlemen, the leaves are yellowing and the wind is turning.

Re-finished a user-grade Tanifuji Favorit on a Nakayama asagi to test the stone. BBS always feels so good...

    Cheers, Steve

A little W&B sway back, with a blade etch reading "Medium Size Hollow Ground" Set the bevel on my King 1K, and then went right to my tiny, magical Coti. Hit the blue for a bit and then onto the butter side. Fantastic edge on this one. Strop and shave coming tomorrow.

Just a touch up for my hayashi diamond on my green Escher, perfect fit for hand held honing. Didn't really need a refresh but I couldn't help myself!

20 pigtails on a milky slurry then 20 more diluting every 5, finally 20 x strokes on clear water.
