There is one minor problem with summer falling on a weekend..... if you sleep in cuz ya don't gotta go to work, you might miss a large part of it.... and damhikt.

Russian MARS razor on vintage light green thuringian. Snapped it up from Peter (Hatzitcho) who posted it on SRP some time ago.

I got a chance to borrow this very nice Asagi for the week. I'm new to Jnats and so far I LOVE EM'!! I honed two razors up to 8k and finished on the Asagi.

The larger blade is a 7/8 Halma. I worked up a light slurry and reduced to pure water. I wasn't too impressed with the way the edge came out though. It was nice, but not an improvement over the 12k Naniwa that I usually finish on. This blade was a little wonky on the hone though, so not the best blade to judge by.

Next was an a very nice 5/8 Herder's. The interesting thing about this blade is that it didn't appear to have ever touched a hone. I couldn't even find any trace of a bevel under magnification. It only took a couple minutes to set it on the 1k Chosera though and the tiny bevel polished up in minutes. After the 8k I gave this one 45 laps on the Asagi with just water. After stropping it gave a HHT like I have never seen before. The hairs went flying at the slightest touch. I've gotten close to this on other stones, but this was best I've gotten. But more importantly, this thing shaves like a dream! Best edge I've ever put on a razor!

Just honed up my custom Hart and my lil W&B brass frameback .

Did the Chosera 1/5/10k , then onto my new blue green Escher.

Took no time at all. The edge on the Hart should be illegal, its that sharp
