Bevel setting on the NOS Manufrance 7/8 and reset of the bevels on the Otto Bush 164 6/8 and the Le Grelot 71 6/8.
Hones used: Naniwa's Specialty Stones, 1000, 2000, 5000, 8000, 12000 and finished with 100 x on the Charnley Forest with Herbertz Honing Oil. Test shave afterwards with the Otto Bush; great shave. It was the first honing session where I used a loup (60x), and I really liked to have a clear view on the honing progression.

I'll tell you guys one thing. A king 1k will take a long time to set a factory bevel on a Gold Dollar. Quite literally a few hours.
Aside from that once the bevel had been set I jointed it and reset the bevel on a coticule. Well 3 different coticules later with no success I busted out my little performer .. first run through dilucot was successful.
Isn't it funny how you can have these 8x2-3" stones and you end up playing with a size 5 bout...
It's got the nickname lightning because of the lightning strikes going through it. It's also fast as lightning.
Thought I would share.

"X" marks the spot for this Russian Spartan razor. A most totally excellent razor steel which can be had fairly cheap too.
Final finish on big Oozuku water down slurry.
Big Oozuku
Bonus pics! When first found in the wild, not Ar-kansas novaculite stone had unusual hone wear...
pre lapped.
that could be attributed to...

I've really been looking forward to posting a pic of this since I got it a couple of weeks ago off another member here. It's a 2x4 Genuine Belgian Razor Hone Barbers Special. A few days ago I gave my Union Cutlery Co a quick touch up followed by a good stropping on this Cordovan by Neil. Todays shave was simply gorgeous. The thing I love about this hobby is it gives us lots of things to learn, lots of things to collect, lots of things to do, and no matter how good a shave you've had in the past, nothing is better than a good shave in the present.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Today I wasn't messing around. Gold Dollar #2 / 4
Took the bevel grind to the 8x3 Eze Lap 600/1200 15 minutes max.
Set the bevel on coticule and did a unicot after a failed dilution sequence.
Test tonight.
