its not in the toiletries, its by medicines. you will see a selection of stuff with aloe and such but i have only used pure distilled as its only £1.30
Razorfelf is that dry skin relief suitable for oily skin, just a misleading name?
Damon if you want to experiment with aftershave as well, just make sure the bottle says aftershave lotion/splash not cologne or eau de toilette.

Very mcguyver .
Personally I find alum a bit stingy, and prefer witch hazel, but I do always use alum to help grip wet skin.
Have you picked up a styptic pencil? They are good for small nicks too and a bit easier to apply precisely as you go. I have never thought of aloe Vera, I might give it a try when some of the other stuff I have runs out.
Another good thing is vitamin e based cream, vitamin e helps with skin healing, I actually use it as a pre and post shave when I am away (i keep stuff where I stay for work as well as at home) at home I use nothing pre, and Nivea balm post.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Ed if you find alum too stingy you are not quite at shaving nirvana yet. i always thought it was a myth when people said it didnt sting them and they were just trying to act macho. but it truly doesnt after a great shave, are you sure you are using light enough pressure? if you havent tried it since you first started shaving you should see what stage you are at now

bombay, I would say not for oily skin because if I use it in the morning I'm still well hydrated at night. If you want to strip the oil of off your face before shaving you might try a bar of Shea Butter soap. I often use that in the shower if I feel facially oily.
And before I forget, Damon, have you tried shaving with a shavette? It is generally what new to straight start out with to get the feel of it. I find that actually a shavette can be more fussy and demanding than a straight.

was it May this year when you started shaving with a straight?
i must admit i think it took me over a year before it stopped stinging. i went camping and just took me de safety razor and hated it, felt like i hadnt shaved. when i got home and picked up my straight again something just happened, it all clicked into place. i started using the lightest strokes ever and i am less concerned with being bbs apart from on my cheeks and its super comfortableNet.Wt.7oz
