Sorry, not the food. An antibiotic capsule taken once or twice a day. The PB&J is soul food for me. The rest of my diet is heavily vegetable with small amounts of protein and is for controlling type 2 Diabetes. Again, not a severe case and I have it under control by diet and exercise. Now I'm hungry, Greek yogurt time.

I thought you were going to mock up a train buffet booth for your place steph, then you just need a tv mounted to the wall showing rolling countryside and a bit of smoke......
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I would still like to do that one day. But time and money are against me currently and that would take a bit. The dream is still vividly clear in my mind though.

In the meantime you could still go on one of the long, classic train rides across the US, Europe, the Trans-Siberian Railway, Australia and others.
The memories of those breakfasts and train rides would be outstanding and might cost less than remodeling your kitchen.

    Indeed...

A long train ride via the old Great Northern/Northern Pacific route--from Chicago to Seattle is on my bucket list.

I miss those old trains--with Pullman service and their dining cars. The food certainly beat that bag of "Snack Mix" that they toss you on those speedy, high flying jets these days.

A great ride it is too. Was my main travel route when I was traveling between Portland and Chicago. Always coach till I got old enough to want some privacy and sleep on the trip and switched to sleeper car. Chance to isolate oneself for any period of time you wanted. Could have meals brought to you. What always amazed me was how the maître 'de in the dining car always knew your name (sleeper car cost includes meals) and would sit you with interesting people to talk to while eating.

My wife and daughter are in the process at this moment booking a train trip from St Paul MN to Atlantic City. A little trouble at the Jersey end with something about a bus. Neither of them has done a train trip.

To the off topic thread for further info that won't fit here!

I remember watching a show about this train traveling to several National Parks out West.
