I got busy and made some Dill Bread. Had a couple of slices just buttered and a bit of homemade blackberry jam for breakfast. I'm thinking it'll be tuna fish sandwiches for lunch.

Cold house, old yeast, new mixer that I don't think I kneaded it right with..............

Bought a 4.5 qt Kitchenaid in a retro blue to try to make my wife happy before she saw the price tag. I would have and should have went with the 6 qt one for the biger motor but the bowl had a rounded bottom so it wouldn't stand on its own.

I wonder if I can soup the motor up fom 350 to 600 watts.

With a cool house ( me too ..thanks Joe Biden ) .. I put the oven light on a couple hours before making bread. And you can use the oven for proofing the dough…works slick

Get yourself one of those electric bread proofing boxes. Then it don't matter what the temp in the house is. That's what I use.

I wouldn't mess with the motor. The wattage is immaterial, it's how the unit uses that power to mix. Kitchen Aides commercial 5 quart mixer which sells for around $2600 is only around 350 watts but operates at full speed and power at all times and has a transmission with a manual clutch and it can mix almost anything.

While I don't make it, I had my yearly treat of Ukrainian Easter bread today. Before Easter the local Safeway grocery store's bakery puts out Ukrainian Easter bread, babka to some. I look forward to that every year.
