Thanks Mick! If I can sneak it tomorrow (i.e. without anyone seeing) I'll take a photo of all the brown paper bags lined up on my desk with all the herbs in them, I've almost exhausted the office stock of bulldog clips to hold the bags closed One does need a HOBBY at work, you know...

By the way, thanks for the post card (re the FP thread etc). It was great to get a PC, they really aren't made for fountain pens, are they? I'll see if I can find an interesting one for a reply... I'm sure there'd be some interesting vintage ones around...

I sent you one I had on hand mate. I'll hunt for better for next time. Was it still legible? (Was it ever, I wonder?!) .

New member; glad to see a tea thread.

I drink mainly blacks with milk & honey - I particularly like Lapsang Souchong and Assams (and like the two blended together), also Nepali blacks & Darjeeling. Occasionally my wife or I will brew up some Indian-style tea in a saucepan - lots of milk and sweetener, and Assam CTC leaves, some cardamom and ginger (and cloves, cinnamon & bay leaf, if I'm making it....my wife says those flavourings go best with mutton).

I've been getting my tea from Upton's mainly as they seem to have a good selection and decent prices.

A good masaala tea is always nice. I think I would like your version best
It is great in cold weather, like a cup of christmas.

Today it was the Gotu Kola, Licorice root, Hibiscus flowers and Ginseng mix again which is really nice. Here's a photo of the little bags of herbs and stuff at my desk...

The blue bowl is what I use to mix it all up in, the glass tea pot holds about a cup; normally I keep adding more water from a thermos flask for two more infusions...

Welcome. Personally not a fan of Lapsang(to syrupy for me) But Like Olav I appreciate a good masala as well. and I love lamb and Mutton mmmmboy !!

Carl...gotta tell ya man. Let them uncultured types at work laugh...cause guess what ? I keep a tea kit with me at work . Keeps my teapot, tea cozy,Persian glass and saucer,tea,sugar,spoon and tongs and extra towel. While my co workers are dipping a sad sack up n down in their cracked mugs, I'm enjoying a piping hot pot full of tea. Granted because it's work I too use bags but my tea is first off better quality as they are using American tea brands which ain't always great(some are though). Plus I get more bang for the buck as it were and compliments on the pot and glass. Much better than a sad ol mug. You go Carl you go...show what's fer. I see nothing wrong at all with your kit(cept maybe all them clips) You need more mini canisters for your goodies. Looks awesome !!
