Not meaning to be condescending at all! What I mean is that you won't find a sencha that isn't a green tea because it won't exist. Similarly, you won't find a 'proper' sencha that isn't Japanese.

To those in the know, this is all obvious and is what makes sencha sencha. To those that don't, 'sencha' alone may not mean much, so qualifying it with the essentially redundant phrase 'Japanese green sencha' or even worse 'Japanese green sencha tea' (cringe), will help to explain a lot.

No I know, don't be silly, I was just being silly, because I don't know your name :-)

So, from now on I'll sound less newbish and say Sencha sans Japanese and sans green :-) I love learning new stuff...

    TOTD 23/07/14

So, this afternoon I took a walk to the markets at lunchtime (as I normally do) and bought some organic dried peppermint leaves. So the tea was peppermint leaves, liquorice root, Sencha, ginseng and Gotu Kola. It was astonishing. Astonishing I tell you!

While I wait for my conference call to begin, Wild-Picked Sheng Pu’er. Really earthy. Almost like a dried mushroom flavor. Very hearty flavor and unlike any teas I've had thus far.
