i neglected to post this, i went to my local/new tea shop here in the valley. I stop in there from time to time, well they finally got in some china blacks. this past wed night, they had a little tasting party, they sampled 6 different china black, and i found out thursday when i stopped in, that of the 6 they sampled, the lapsang souchong was the least favorite of the bunch, apparently the ladies couldnt get past the smokeyness of it. (what a bunch of women, lol), i did pick up a 2 oz pack of some lapsang souchong butterfly #1, cant tell to much difference, but it is good all the same.

Love Tea, Oolongs, Whites, Pu-Erhs mostly fully fermented cakes. No Caffine at night here but Green or Red Rooibos fit the bill in the evening. Tupelo honey in all . Always done buisness at Upton Teas great service and always fresh.

the tea of the evening, was some lapsang souchong butterfly#1. Let me explain that big black package in the picture. i purchased it at a european market the other day, it is supposedly a russian tea, but the verdict is still out. from what i can tell, it says black tea with flavoring, i believe it is ceylon, with a rosepetal flavoring. i havent figured it out yet, as with all teas you have to figure them out, IE how much and for how long, but it has a very interesting flavor, will keep experimenting. if anyone wants to try it, give me a shout, can work something out. Don, i have never tried upton teas, i will have to check them out, and as far as caffine goes, my mother tells me i started drinking coffee when i was old enough to reach the pot, so i figure i was about 7 or 8, so caffene is pretty much something i have to have to avoid any major discomfort. Kinda reminds me of what i heard John Mellencamp say one time, that man was such a chain smoker that he would wake up in the middle of the night and need a cigarette, well caffene will do the same thing to me if i am not careful.

Sitting down with a Rooibos Vanilla, it's hearty Rooibos with genuine Bourbon Vanilla. Just a enough where you don't loose the flavor of the tea but enough to get that Bourbon Vanilla sweetness. Relax!
