Post Thanksgiving dinner or plan B as I call it.

This was my just in case dinner so,I had it tonight.

Cajun fried pork steak with Cajun gravy, cornbread walnut stuffing, mashed purple sweet potatoes (love these things) Cranberry orange pineapple relish.

For dessert: Pumpkin cake with cranberry relish and some pecan pie ice cream and a pot of strawberry black currant black tea topped off with a pipe full of good Virginia cake tobacco.

I don't know if your pumpkin cake is home made or not. If you need a recipe, this one is really good. I converted all of it to metric weight measurements so I can multiply it easily. But I can attest that it tastes good but for the spice being a little tame. I do about 1.5 the spices to give it a little shot in the arm.

Also, I can appreciate the nice looking table you set for yourself. Very nice.

I fully admit the cake was store bought. I'm okay with semi home made. and I don't have a lot of room for baking let alone having the baking gene but...you got a recipe for a simple but nice spice or honey type cake by any chance ??
As for the table. well to all my bachelor comrades out there I say.....it's not gonna set itself . I got tired of coming home to a bachelor looking pad years ago and decided that my home should always look like my parents home did when I would visit them...welcoming ,cozy and civilized ..

I do. It's pain d'epices. It's both spice and honey. Give me some time to get it into a format I can share.

As for the table, it's surprising but it's my wife that could care less about it. I used to set quite a table when we were dating. I didn't know she was indifferent. I no longer bother.
