The end result. Braised lamb steaks. With carrots shrooms and fondant potatos. And of course gravy.

I've never had acorn. How would you describe its flavor?

Acorn meal tastes like a bland nut. The flatbread had a bit of a roasted nut flavor.

I shelled some acorns when I was a kid and remember rinsing them in a strainer and the water came out purple from the bottom.

I have heard of the meat turning darker over time, like when people collect them in the fall and store them until the following year.

Especially in a refrigerator there can be a large difference in temps depending on where you measure it. I work with a program that monitors about 300 refrigerators and freezers on our site. So I have plenty of experience with that.

The alarm came in handy today! We added 2 more deer this last week and I have the pleasant problem that it is completely full. My son took some venison to share with his friends at work and left the door ajar.....

Well as I'd posted in (Who Bakes Bread) I'd made my rolls on Friday as I was hosting my day of giving Thanks on Saturday so that my kids, their significant others and my grand kids could have a nice relaxed day and I wouldn't have to be stressed trying to make sure that I had the meal ready within a certain time frame. They have other families that they spend time with on the special holidays.

SRP was down when I went to post the pics so here they are just a little bit late:

Sorry but I spaced off a pic of the Pumpkin Coconut Pie (I use Coconut Milk instead of Evaporated Milk)
