I have a Behmor, as far as home roasters go, they are certainly worth the money.

I have a Behmor 1600+, and a friend of mine has a Gene Cafe. Fairly, I like mine more: the larger batch, preprogrammed profiles as well as fully manual option, different type of heat transfer leading to a less dried-out roasts holding for almost twice as long afterwards - it's all speaks for the Behmor.

Spot on, unless you get a small commercial propane roaster the Behmor is the way to go. You might be able to find a refurbished one out there for less money.

I have the Gene Cafe and I disagree.

First the Gene Cafe is totally manual you can alter temp and time on the fly and stop the roast when you want. It cools to the 200 degree range in a couple of minutes. It heats with hot air which is how most drum units operate. If you are getting dried out beans you are doing something very wrong. It's a unit that was designed from the ground up for a particular purpose. On the other hand the Behmoor is a re-purposed toaster oven the same way the basic roasters are re purposed pop corn poppers.

I'm not knocking the Behmoor. For the money it's a high value unit.

Second the Gene Cafe has been well reviewed and you can get professional results with the thing if you are careful. You can't get the same results with the behmoor.

It's a far better machine than the behmoor. Yes you can roast more with the behmoor but you can hold more cargo in a Ford econoline but it's not a better vehicle than a BMW.

The next step after that is a drum unit like the hot top.

Having been traveling lately my morning cup has been in hotel lobbies and cafes of various kinds. Today I get to have my morning cup watching cartoons with my son. Life is better at home.

That looked like a great pull!!

Me, a nice fresh Mexican roast from my local roaster. A little darker than I prefer but still not a problem of taste using the Cremina! Double shot 8oz Latte is my preferred drink.

The warm weather got me in the mood for cold brew. Set up my drip tower tonight and will have a liter of black goodness to put on nitro for a mid afternoon cool down tomorrow.

*Disclaimer* used an old photo to show the tower.

Cool. What some people will do for coffee amazes me some times.
