Ive been working 4 10s so today is a day off and just got done with a great shave and used my regular Ogalalla bay rum. My shave was the best one ive had so far (that you gssixgun for your help with my honing and stroping). Also thank you Gerrit, when I thought I was using no pressure I was using to much pressure!
I love bay rum and am excited to try more of them. The Ogallala I have is the sandelwood and like it and tried the regular sample that he gave me for free when I got my package. He gave me a few free things and I though that was really nice. I dont like the regular as much as the sandelwood but I stil like it. It seemed to be a good conditioner also so I guess thats a group 2 from a rookie view. It had a very slight burn where as I dont get any burn from the sandelwood. The Capt Smith is on its way and from what I hear thats a burner so I will see what happens when I put that on.

Thanked: 1I'm quite fond of Master Bay Rum. I need to order more, as I'm down to my last 2 bottles. I buy mine from Atlanta Barber and Beauty Supply. It's 4 or 5 bucks plus shipping. Their website is index.
They have a couple more brands of BR that I want to try. I have the Pinaud VI BR, but am not too fond of the smell. Too much like straight clove oil.
I also have the Ogallala and find the scent a bit weak. I use Ogallala BR cologne as soon as the Ogallala BR AS dries.

Anyone have any commentary on the difference between Capt. Smiths Regular Bay Rum and the "Island Spice?" Considering them for my next AS purchase.

Here's another one to try. Just got it in today.
Honeybee Gardens: HBG for Men Herbal Aftershave For Men
has a nice light scent with witch hazel and aloe. I'll see how much I like it after I get a shave in with it.

The honeybee gardens is well....eehhhh. Not much to mention really. It fits into the second category because it really does seem to condition the skin rather well but as for the scent, not much happenin in that dept. It burns off within minutes of splashing it on. I prefer my aftershaves and colognes to stick around for a bit, hell.. that's what I generally buy them for the scent. It's too bad though as the scent is quite nice while it lasts.
Oh well. At least it wasn't a big money loss.

Thanked: 13247Captain's Choice Bay Rum
This is a Category 3 Bay Rum, made with Grain Alcohol, and Rum, along with scents Witch Hazel, and Glycerin..
It is available here
Captain's Choice Bay Rum Aftershave
Not bad at all, a nice feel to the face, The scent is more toward the Old West style of Bay Rum with the heavier clove scent rather than the lighter island scents.. Me, I like them all so don't put much stock into what I say for scents
