Does somebody know the history of this 177 zwilling with ivory or some hard bone scales?
I'm a little confused, because the country of production is not specified. But it's hard to believe that this one was made before 1891.

One of the issues with using the country of origin as a means of dating is that it implies it was made for export. That one was likely made for the German market, it also has no English on it. The export models had Zwillingswerk/Twinworks marked on them, and Germany. The scales are a little curious. Classic ivory scales are pinned without collars, but your close up shot does not look like bone. They could also be very well made plastic of sorts too. It is a nice razor and likely will hone up to be an awesome shaver.

    Interesting information about export.
The scales are not plastic. I've checked with hot pin, and it does not melt. Just leaves a little black dot.

Can you guys upload a photos of your 177, who got them?
I can't find any info about this model. And maybe somebody knows when they were produced?
    Thanks.

It will be nice to get them honed and shaving.
Lovely! I had one like those, it was an amazingly good shaver! Something about it's balance as well, felt extremely good in hand; what number on those?

I love that box, I'd love to find one someday
