Thread: The "Shumate Shaving Society"

i also got one tonight. the wood shop i work in all the time, one of the men saw me working on a razor and he told me that he found one one day working in a barn. i live by the st loius area. the one i got is just like the tungsten one above. its got some light rust on it, nothing i cant fix with teh orginal scales still on very good shape i will post hte picture when i bring back my camrea i left at work. a very nice find from what i have read.

Just picked up my first Shumate, a St. Louis Barber from Brad Maggard at Straight Razor Edge. Brad did the restoration work, including a regrind, but the scales are original. Can't wait to get this baby honed up and see how it shaves!

I recently picked up a Shumate "Pacific" from E-Bay and would like to tender my application to the S.S.S.

Beautiful. Such interesting scales on that model - I love it!

And yes, any reason is a good reason for a party.

This is the 3rd razor in my collection. It has not been honed yet, just cleaned up. I was not sure what I had when I picked it up so I'm glad that they are good shavers.
