I have wanted a razor with red scales. I found this one and some red plexi glass. I'll post after pictures soon (I hope). It's a Shumate 35. Is there any method to their numbering system? Will this get me into the SSS?

    Welcome to the Triple S

I bet at some time there was rhyme and reason to all the numbering systems but even if it is so it has been lost along the line....

    Default First try at restore

This Shumate was my first try at a restore.
    Mistakes:
Took off gold lettering; did not yet have high enough grits to polish.
However I was able to get it shave ready after getting out that large chip. Believe it or not with a cutting wheel on a table saw. Got lucky not to ruin the temper. Don't know how to repair missing part of shaft.

Yes I saw it wish I could have kept the gold wash, but being my first I buffed it right off. I don't guess there's anything I can do about the missing MOP?

Ok here is the finished red Shumate. The plexi glass is thicker than the original scale, but the balance seems fine.

This is my "Peacemaker". It is the best shaver that I have. I haven't shaved with but 3 razors, but this beat them all. I have since changed tthe scales to plain black until I want to part with it to gete a nicee set added.
I thought that there would have been one of these posted by now.
