Week of August 8 SOTD - Wednesday
Pre-Shave: Hot shower + fresh lemon juice + Stephan's Smooth Conditioning Shaving Creme Razor: 6/8" Respecto #77, Full hollow, Round Point Brush: 22mm Vulfix Super Badger Creme/Überlather: Godrej Menthol Mist Shave Creme + Mama Bear's Amber Romance Glycerin Soap + Glycerin Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel (lavender, no alcohol) ASB: Truffit & Hill Trafalgar Cologne: Penhaligon Endymion Facial Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Facial Moisturizer Result: Super prep (refreshingly warm and cool), Super lather, Super smooth shave.
The überlather this morning was both warm and cool, the latter being due to the menthol in the SC. It was moist and thick . My honing curiosity/experiment with different stones continues. I finished the edge on my Respecto on my yellow, natural Coti (50 light laps) and the Naniwa 12k (50 laps). It seems like regardless of what regimen I put my Respecto through, it consistently delivers a sharp, yet very, very smooth edge . Maybe one day, I'll be able to spot the subtle differences in edge produced by various stones.
Until that day, have a FANTASTIC and productive Wednesday .

Thanked: 13245Holy Moly Batman that is SHARP !!!!
Now some of you followed the building of this razor here thank you for you kind comments BTW...
This was the test run of the Kamisarus Rex or "Junkyard" as I named it last night...
A total from scraps build on this...
I honed it up using a variable Kamisori stroke pattern:: Starting on the Norton 1k, I was at a 10:1 ratio... Moving to the King 1k I stayed there at 10:1 then on the Norton 4k I dropped it to 7:1... 5:1 on the Norton 8k... Finishing on the Nakayama I went down to 3:1... I have never seen a razor take an edge so fast.. I had to breadknife this one to have clear steel to start, and I had a hair popping edge in one minute, my jaw dropped...
The razor is beyond sharp, I was scared using it, and I like sharp razors, maybe it is the dual points, or the smaller blade, but it is intimidating..
Now after the first stroke you're in love, you barely touch the face using very light pressure, I went through a multi-direction first pass, then a follow up, with plain water, and I am BBS, simply amazing results under the jawline, which is my problem spot..
Soap: Prairie Creation Spring Rain
Brush: 22mm Silvertip Vintage Brass restore
Razor: "Junkyard"
Strop: Coming off the hones I use a Illinois #827
Balm: Cool Water
Cologne: Cool Water
Have a Great Day!!!

For me this razor is the perfect combination of grind, size, weight, smoothness and sharpness. Probably the only razor I would ever keep as my daily shaver if needed. It has never let me down once.

Wednesday Shave
I havent had a chance to shave for a bit but here it is!
Strop: 3" Black latigo 50 polyweb/100 leather
Razor: 6/8 Grelot
Brush: omega 05
Soap: DR Harris Lavender
Aftershave: Very Sexy For Him
Great two pass shave and a fine shave but still having issues with around the jaw line. Oh well! Practice makes perfect!
Cold water rinse and 25/50 strop to clean the blade and oiled with ballistol and put away until next time.
On another note my new razor should be coming in soon, do you think i should hold off shaving until it comes in or should i keep at my shaving?Shaving_story on Instagram
