Post Week of January 30 SOTD - Friday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 26mm "Chubby #2", 3-band, Super Badger
Razor: 5/8" Thiers-Issard "Celebration Silverwing, Ltd. Ed." #165, French Point
Strop: 55/70 (Torolf linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: L'Occitane "Cade" Shave Creme + L'Occitane "Cade" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
After Shave Balm: L'Occitane "Cade" AS Balm
    Cologne: Creed Tabarome EdC
Results: A remarkable shave with the TI Silverwing . Her hard steel was no match for the 24 hr stubble. I overloaded with the Cade soap and the überlather provided for a super slick and moist medium for this shave. I am loving this smooth BBS feel.

Wonderful SOTDs gentlemen. Have a FABULOUS Friday.

    Default FRIDAY SHAVE

    PREP: Hot shower
    RAZOR: Unknown Kamisori
    BRUSH: Simpson PJ3
SOAP: Uberlather with SRD sandalwood and Trumpers Sandalwood
    ASTRIGNENT: Lucido
    ASB: Lucido
    EDT: Elizabeth Arden " Sandalwood"
    RESULT: FUN FANTASTIC SHAVE !!!

I was going to wait till Sunday to use it, but Im impatient so..... Today was the day , I got this Kamisori on the bay and just sent it out to Max to get her up and running. Well needless to say it was an awesome experience. Im definitely hooked on Japanese straights. It took some getting used to at first but im becoming more confident with it the more I pick it up. Super close shave, some spots could have been better but I will figure the angles out in time. Also the uberlather today was a Sandalwood lovers dream, super thick creamy and sandalwoody.

GREAT PICS GUYS!!!!!! KEEP EM COMING !!!

The Improved Eagle Razor/Vulfix 404/Arko SC/Arko AS Balm

A darn fine face shave with this razor. Then I got bold and attempted a Head shave. I did well on the top and sides. Chickened out on the back, so had to finish with the trusty GEM 1912. Since I was at with the GEM I did 1 quick pass of the face. Now I'm BB smoooooooth.

Awesome pictures today. Cheer's it's my day off

On the day before another snow event here in Northern NJ, I decided to enjoy the day.

I took a hot shower and rubbed my whiskers with Burt's Bees Shave cream to get things started.

    Warm Oil
    Hannah Ceramic Bowl
The "Bomb" shave cream sent to me by Bill (LegalBeagal)
    Custom Badger Brush
    1959 Fatboy by Gillette
    AOS Aluminum
    Vaseline for men.

Today's shave was about the "Bomb." I used it straight up as Bill sent it, no glycerin or Vitamin E oil. I warmed the bowl and brush, put a small amount into the bowl and it whipped up really well. Very thick and made enough for all three passes.
One of the tests I do is in the middle of a shave, I always re-wet my face before applying more lather. I always feel for the slickness left on my skin after I run a razor over the skin. This shave cream left a very nice slickness and gave a really good lather during all three passes.
The smell is a custom blend and very pleasant. Like everything else I wear, the warden must approve the smell.

Bill, thanks for the sample and I think it is time to order from AL.

Now, off to a nice lunch at the River Palm with some friends.

This video is a slow drive down me street to demonstrate the depth of the snow. The town is now removing snow piles since two cars a cannot pass!!

    YouTube - SNOW!!!

    Someone enjoyed the Snow....

Haaa...you finally bit the bullet and got one, eh? Nice one . Not sure, but that looks like a Shizu Subaru (one of the newer makers of straights). Congratulations. Welcome to the Kamisori shavers club.
