If only Max could get G10 Purple colored scales...Hmmmmm!! Food for thought.
Thanks Robert! The scales on this H.Diamond are some of the nicest "stock scales" I have seen. They have a nice "cracked" effect to them that reflects light beautifully. The important thing though is that this razor shaves as good as she looks.

I am with you...Max should work his magic and create replica scales like these!

Razor: All i can read that is not worn off is Full Concave Warrented
    Pre-shave: Noxzema
    Brush: Unknown boar
    Soap: Handmade Naturals Frankincense
    AS: Thayers Lavender and Clubman
Result: I decided to see if I was still able to shave off of my black arkansas stone like I used to before I discovered synhetics. I set the bevel on my King 800 and then used about 100 strokes on the side of the arkie lapped to 600 grit. Then I used the other side that was lapped and polished dry to 2000 grit and did 200 more strokes. Shaved with it today, and I must say, pretty damn good shave. Very keen edge, though not as smooth as my PHIG.

Post Week of May 29 SOTD - Friday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby 2", 3-band, Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wacker "Wickinger", 1/4 Hollow Ground, French Point (Ivory G10 scales + Red Jasper Recon Stone wedge)
Honing Regimen: Naniwa 1k, Shapton Pro [1k/2k/5k/12k]
Strop: 10 laps on balsa/CrOx + 0/15 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Institute Karite Shave Creme + Institute Karite Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: La Toja Manantiales AS
    Cologne: La Toja Manantiales EdC
Results: New stuff all around today . (1) The Wacker Maxterpiece, (2) Institute Karite SS/SC, (3) La Toja Manantiales AS/EdC. OK, so let's take it from the top. The lather out of the IK lineup was excellent. This stuff is ultra moisturizing. The Simpson whipped a lather out of this combination in no time at all. The end result was a lather than was moist, shiny and sticky with lots and lots of glide and cushion. The only thing I don't like about IK is a lot of ingredients are "junk/useless" status for me and I don't care for them. I didn't care for the original scales the Wacker came in, so Max used his magic wand and dressed her in beautiful Ivory G10 scales with red jasper recon stone wedge...her true beauty now comes shining through (thanks Maxtro). I honed her up a few days ago and she is wickedly sharp. Her toe dug a 1/8" nick in my upper right cheek. I need to dial the sharpness down a bit. But, she delivered an outstandingly BBS shave today. I also pulled the trigger and bought the La Toja Manantiales AS and EdC from a member on B&B. The scents are subtle but invigorating. They are distinctly different in their own way and do not clash. Great scents. My Manantiales set is now complete.

    Have a GREAT Friday gentlemen.

    My First SOD!!!!!!

    PREP: Hot Shower
    Brush: SRD Stephan's Silver #2
Soap: T&H "Grafton" cream, Col Conk Almond, 4ggts glycerin
Razor: My own restored Paul Kohl Fisher Works Solingen
    Astringent: Lubriderm 3 in 1
    Cologne: Play

Result:My First BBS!!!! I owe it all to everyone here at SRP. Lots of learning. Still way more to go. I was amazed at the Razor. I had to breadknife out a big chip and smile yesterday then went thru Norton 1K/4K/8K and finished on Naniwa 12K, CrOX balsa, .125 diamond felt paddle.
This morning took 20 passes on clean pressed felt strop and 100 on leather. I was finishing my third pass and realized, "hey I'm gonna make it without and cuts or weapers, first time ever". wham! small nick on my chin!!
Oh well still my best shave yet!!
    what a great feeling!!!!
