Post Week of June 12 SOTD - Friday

Pre-Shave: Hot shower + MWF Bath Soap
Brush: 23mm Simpson "Chubby 1", 2-band Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 6/8" Wade & Butcher "Original Bow" Razor, 1/4 Hollow Ground, Spike Point (Faux Tortoise scales)
Strop: 45/55 laps (Torolf linen / SRD Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Cyril Salter "Wild Rose" Shave Creme + Trumper's "Rose" Shave soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Truefitt & Hill "Spanish leather" AS
    Cologne: Penhaligon's "Quercus" EdT
Concept of Choice (Robert's mini-treatise on wetshaving): The "Bow" had been neglected as of late in light of some of my "erRADic" (I know, I know...spare me the spell check) behavior . What's a man to do when faced with the agonizing terror of choosing one from amongst a treasure trove of wonderful razors? After all, I am a mortal and as such, I am doomed to live a lifetime of torment, pondering the "what if" questions of life...going left when I should have turned right, doing this when I should have done that, etc, etc. "Choice", my friends, is the single biggest (yet inevitable) downfall of wetshaving. It is probably the 8th sin and I don't even know it . But, you know what? I don't even care...I love "Choice" (from JP Sartre's existentialistic POV), wetshaving and exercising my "Right" (as a mortal) to chose one razor over another, simply because I can and I want to .
Results: OK...enough pontification for a Friday!!! Getting back to reality and today's shave...the "Bow" didn'nt even hold the slightest grudge despite being neglected for so long. She knows that she is loved . Her edge was as smooth and sharp as the day I received her from Max (and this was my 1st Maxterpiece). A few laps on the strops and she was ready to rock...And rock she did. In close collaboration with the Harris/Salter uber, she wiped yesterday's whiskers clean off my face...And I mean, CLEAN !!! Nothing left to even talk about. Super shave, super nice, super smooth.

Gentlemen: Marvelous SOTDs today. Keep them coming. In the meantime, I wish you a FANTABULOUS Friday .

yes weekend. Finally a few days relaxing. Coming up a nice barbecue.
I need a little clean-shaven and then lets party.
Unfortunately in the Netherlands is not so nice weather at the moment, clouds and 20 degrees.
But that should not stop the fun.

Prep: face washed with hot water
    strop: 20 cotton/60 leather
    Brush: FS Silvertip
    Soap:MB. YE olde barbershoppe
    Razor: Wacker JungMeister 15/16
AS: Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male
Result: A nice BBS smooth head and face, the light reflects off my head.

[QUOTE=BladeRunner001;802272]I don't know Julian...that's not the Faultless' fault, it's the whiskers that grow too slow, LOL. We have to fix your genes buddy, LOOOOL. Rene has the same problem.

Robert, that gene fix can't come too soon for me....

    Best regards,
    Julian
