    Rene,
What a catch buddy. That Ferlen is just OOTW. Bob always has great stuff to unload.

Waiting for growth is another downside of "proper" CBS westshaving, LOOOOOL. It could have been worse...You could be waiting for 4 days instead of 2, LOL

That Martini Henry is the "funnest" firearm i've ever shot. Needless to say, being a collector of Victorian firearms, I couldn't believe it that I could get razors from the same era (and for quite a bit less $!) and use them as well.

In case you wonder what it's like you can check out these vids I posted on youtube.
Two Victorian era items is a great matchup indeed. I really enjoyed those videos. I gotta say that thing is "smokey" and noisy...Thank you for sharing buddy

    David,
You mean Henry T. Limmus? Wowwwww...That historical detail only makes this razor even more special. I hope you keep her in your collection forever.

    Frank,
Only a winning combination of 'stuff' can lead to a winning shave like yours. Well done buddy

    Default Saturday

The house is quiet this morning. The kids are still sleeping and so is the light in my life. Outside the sun is shining and a beautiful summer day has just started.

    Pre: Hot shower
    Brush: A simple badger
    Soap: Truefitt & Hill Luxury
Razor: Dovo 5/8 Silver Steel Ebenholtz
    Post: Bloc Osma
Post: Nivea balm (I love that stuff)
    Edt: Moschino "Forever"

Result: 3 pass attack 1 WTG + 1 XTG + 1 (semi) ATG. Against on the neck area. The Dovo delivered this morning. Almost a BBS shave practice practice practice and i will hopefully get there eventually but who stated that shaving or life should be easy ;-) ... However the search for the perfect shave goes on.

Gentlemen have a fabulous weekend !!!!

    Regards
    Johan

    Default Saturday

Pre-Shave: A shower, long and warm.
Brush: Taylor of old Bond street
Razor: Chr. Rabén, Uppsala. 6/8 Spike point
Honing Regimen: Chosera 1-5-10K, Shoubudani with Mejiro and Tomo Nagura, finished on water.
    Strop: Kanayama #90000, tri-strop
    Soap/Cream: Truefitt&Hill 1805 shaving cream
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
    Astringent:
    After shave Balm: Truefitt&Hill 1805
    EdT: Truefitt&Hill 1805
Results: This new Swede was a pleasing new arrival. I had never even heard of the brand, but figured it worth a shot. It takes an edge just as well as my other Swedes. Good stuff. I believe someone has re-grinded it somewhere along the way, and that someone sure did a good job. Very hollow, very even! Sadly, when testing it after honing it gave me the biggest cut I've ever had from this sport That will soon be healed, and all I'll remember from this incidence is this great razors edge!

    Default Saturday morning

    Prep: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 3
Razor: Ari-ya, my lovely japanese ant-arrow blade (cheers Jim!)
Superlather: Henks Dutch Moss + Top Secret
AS: Lucky Tiger and Lacoste Challange
    Strops: Neil Miller

Ahh. this was a nice one, best in a long while. This superlather combo was perfect, the blade is wonderful and the brush is out of this world nice!

Yesterdays shave was lousy and I didn´t want to write about it ;-), but the blade is nice, so she gets an appearance (custom made scales by Neil, with MOP inlays):

Beautiful catch, Bjoernar, but very sorry to hear about the cut! Hope it heals fast!

    Mikael,

The blade is, indeed, lovely, and those less desireable shaves just make us appreciate the good ones (like it sounds like you had this morning) all the more!

I was in Sweden a while ago. I remember waking up in the morning with the sliding door of the hotel room open a small bit and the cool fresh air in the room. You have a beautiful country, enjoy your quiet time.
