Post Week of August 21 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby 2", 2-Band, Super Badger
Razor: 11/16" J.A. Henckels #50, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 20/40/50 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: CarrieM "Bourbon Vanilla" Shave Creme + Artisan "Melon" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    After Shave Splash: Proraso AS
    After Shave Creme: Sabon ASB
    Cologne: Acca Kappa "Calycanthus" EdT
Results: Outstanding shave today with the Henckels, especially after a quick refresh of the edge on the Nakayama Kiita/Asagi. The Bourbon Vanilla was a scent that I had missed for quite some time. Combined it with a sample of an artisan shave soap I got from Max when visiting Vegas last, and was rewarded to a fabulous lather. Super CBS, and super happy to start the day.

Have an WONDERFUL Thursday gentlemen .

    Thursday 8/25/11

    Kinfolks 5/8
    Semogue 1305
    MWF ss
    Thayers Lemon WH w/ aloe
    Aqua Velva a/s
    Anherb a/s gel
    Dunhill for Men Edt

A fantastic shave with the Kinfolks blade this afternoon. Spent extra time on my neck/jawline and finished with as smooth a shave as I can get with a straight. And today will be better than yesterday.

    Good evening Gentlemen

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Omega boar # 81052
    Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad
    Scuttle: Robert Becker large
    Razor: C. W. Dahlgren, 5/8 smiling frameback
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Bay Rum homemade splash
Notes: Lovely 3-pass evening shave. I find I much prefer shaving in the evening rather than in the morning before I rush out the door to work. So relaxing after a day's work. The dahlgren performed great, it took a great edge after I cracked the honing on this thing.

    Default Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
    Razor: Mastro Livi 6/8
Strop: 30/60 Neil Miller Linen/English bridle
    Soap: Tabac
    After shave: Tabac ASB
Results: WONDERFUL! First and last shave with my first Livi. I was unlucky enough to get one with some "grinding issues" so it's heading back to Italy tomorrow. I weren't going to shave with it since I was going to return it, but I was strictly told that with this bad luck, I definitly deserved to get one shave with it before I returned it. Now I just keep my fingers crossed and hope I don't have to wait forever for the replacment.
