I would like once rescale it. It's demo scales. The blade is truly prima, here you can see what it was.

Post Week of October 9 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 26mm Simpson "Chubby 2" Super Badger
Maxterpiece: 8/8" DOVO #55 "Best Class", Full Hollow Ground, French Point (w/ Bone Linen Micarta scales)
Honing (refresh) Regimen: Refreshed with 4 (light) laps on CrOx on sanded SRD Premium IV Bridle leather
Strop: 0/60 laps (Torolf Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: Jack Black "Macademia/Soy" Shave Creme + D.R. Harris "Arlington" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
Moisturizer: D.R. Harris "Arlington" AS Milk
After Shave Splash: D.R. Harris "Arlington" AS
    Cologne: D.R. Harris "Arlington" EdT
Results: I was (very) lucky enough to come across this rare DOVO is excellent condition (different scales) some time ago and asked Max to give her a stylish makeover. I love this blade . Her edge is sooooo wonderfully smooth that it gives butter a run for its money . The Arlington line up needs no introductions or justifications to this crowd . My journey in today's shave was a blissful 40 minutes short. Spent a good amount of time lather building and working it into my whiskers (any longer and I wouldn't need any razor ). As big as this DOVO is, I felt virtually nothing pressing against my face throughout the process. Yeap, she was that smooth. And now, so is my face for that matter. I am really getting the hang of the CrOx technique now.

    Have a WONDERFUL Tuesday gentlemen.

Ouuuch OS. Sorry to hear about your shoulder and hands. Does numbness ensue because you hold 'em too tight as a result of their small size? I guess it's time for an upgrade. Do you have anything in mind to replace them with?
There is nerve damage in my shoulder from an old injury. The carpal tunnel is from spending way too much time at a computer at work and at home...lol. I don't use a tight grip at all, it's just that they are very small. My main DE razor is a Merkur Futur. I also have a Merkur Alu (blue barrel grip about 3/4 inch in diameter at it's widest point), and neither of those razors bother me. I have not problems with straights either, it's just that I don't always have the time on weekdays to use a straight because I of work. Over time I'll downsize the DE collection and expand my straight collection (as much as the wife will allow...which isn't much right now). I hope to improve my speed with a straight razor the more I use them.

Cheers Robert! Your Dovo is one nice looking razor! I would love to have a Dovo like that one day - grinded at the factory by a master grinder and now with scales by a master crafts man

Brush has a 25 mm knot, handle 56 mm and a total of 115 mm high. Very nice specs in my book ... Rod's free to take your order anytime now ... Now, please release Max, so we can order things from him, isn't that a fair trade? Loool.

Thanks my friend. All is well. I was vacationing without internet access.
Now I'm back to work, and I'm wondering how I can get anybody to pay me to move to Malta instead of this cold place? LOL

Thanks Robert. It's pretty overwhelming, quite 'raw' (or even 'dark' may I say) and almost one-dimenional before you shave, i.e. the puck on its own. Reminds me much more something else rather than lavender (e.g. if you could think of something in between lavender and the scent of the I Coloniali soap...)

However, once you lather it up the scent becomes much lighter and even more enjoyable.

It's one of these things that will possibly grow on someone, just like the lavender-biased MdC soap. The other lavender-related examples available in the market, e.g. T&H Ultimate Comfort, T&H Luxury, CF, etc. are much more straightforward lavender scents, if you get my drift. This is my personal and subjective opinion, anyway.

    Razor:Gem 1912
    Blade:Gem CS
    Brush:Rooney Pure Badger
    Cream:Arko Regular
    AS:Thayers Lavender and Avon Spicy
Result:Ultra smooth shave today. Must have done a great job of exfolliating with the Gem because the AS burned like hell. No razor burn, redness or irritation. Just AS burn on full face. Now my skin looks and feels like a million bucks.
