08-31-2012, 10:31 PM #194The MWF does not perform for me. Although it seems like there is a bunch on lather on the brush, the lather goes on my face kinda thin. it is not watery just not as luxurious a lather as some of the others I use. I guess there are some nuances to get it to lather better. I'll just keep working on it.
I just acquired my first MWF a few weeks ago. Had beginner's luck using a technique that was recommended for lathering Williams: Before jumping into the shower, put a couple of tablespoons of piping hot water on the puck, put the lid back on and let it simmer while you're enjoying your shower. When you're ready to shave, empty the water into your lather bowl, load your brush on the softened puck and start cranking. I've had really satisfying results. (Even the Williams produces incredible lather like this, believe it or not.)
I use the same technique with glycerine soaps (e.g. Mama Bear's), and it produces lots of lush lather. If you haven't tried it that way yet, give it a shot, and let us know how it turns out.
Enjoy!
