Akatombow | MdC | Thäter | Lucido | Rancé Le Vainqueur

What a wonderful shave! I had not used the MdC lately, and this shave made me question that decision. The lather was absolutely wonderful with the clean, refreshing scent that it carries, I was soon in a zen place for the duration of the shave. The Akatombow is truly a wonderful razor and the elk bone scales she sits in have some beautiful figuring. It is truly a joy to shave with. After two passes, plus clean up, I'm ready to head to court feeling fresh, smooth, and unstoppable!

    Razor: Gillette Fat Boy, 1959
    Blade: Derby
    Prep: Warm oil (home made)
    Brush: Custom by Nelson
    Soap: MWF
    A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel
    Result: Nice, comfortable shave

Nelson gave me this brush at the meet-up. I keep using it because the badger knot keeps blooming and holding more and more water and lather. Nice and soft, an outstanding brush. Thanks again Nelson.
The MWF does not perform for me. Although it seems like there is a bunch on lather on the brush, the lather goes on my face kinda thin. it is not watery just not as luxurious a lather as some of the others I use. I guess there are some nuances to get it to lather better. I'll just keep working on it.

Long weekend starts today. Visit to the museums today and then to a visit to DC to see Bill and Hiroko.

    Enjoy your weekend.
