    Thursday

A bit of an interesting day at work discussing Joseph Conrad, Lucretius, Aldous Huxley, Timothy Leary and reading reports on weird and wonderful comments by psychotic prisoners. This made for a fun-filled day. It’s always nice to read about the arguably insane, as it makes one feel very measured and stable.

Very close single pass shave with the Top Flight this morning. The Mike’s natural soap lathered obediently, though I’m still not sure about the Pine and Cedarwood scent. I really need to get another of his; maybe a nice citrussy one?

The scales told me I was 75.9 this morning. I DID have just salad for tea last night, but given that that was washed down with four or five Dutch beers I can’t really see how I dropped 3.2 kilos in one day; even considering my remarkably youthful and speedy metabolism. Salad for tea again tonight, methinks, but then pasta and a little bit of meatballs for my pre-workout snack tomorrow and a little bit of pasta, a LOT of meatballs and some simple carbs AFTER the workout; it’ll be interesting what happens then, re the weight...

I think salad at night’s the way to go, it’s not like I need a massive amount of calories at night; I don’t really get up to a lot at night. I do do some sitting, and the fingers are pretty active on the keyboard, plus I may shout and gesticulate at the TV a bit (depending on what stupid condescending ‘politician’ is saying stupid things), but I don’t gesticulate enough to warrant steak, eggs and chips for tea.

The brother (who’s been staying at my house for a few weeks after escaping family turmoil) has gone back home to his, um, wife and taken his packets of Peter Stuyvesant Classic filter with him, which is a good thing, as I’d been imbibing. FEELING A BIT TENSE THOUGH, SO YOU’D BETTER WATCH OUT. If I were you, I’d stay off the road between Mount Torrens and Murray Bridge for the next few days. If you absolutely DO need to travel that route, do NOT tail gate the old red Toyota RAV 4. That guy’s a complete arsehole and really, really tense. Plus I hear he’s been workin’ out...

Razor: Barry Burrell | Soap: A guy named ‘Mike’ (who smells of cedar and pine) | After Shave: Some Liquored up Jamaican sailors who’ve rubbed a Bay tree on themselves just prior to steppin’ ashore for some action…

That's a really important statement, Mike. Now I've got a really nice strop, I should pay more attention to using the strop to smooth an edge. Thanks!

Went with the Top Flight again today. Dialed in the edge with the diamond pasted strop, oh so smooth. Almost as good as the pics you guys are posting...3 passes to silky sticky smooth and I am out the door feeling like a million!
