Brush: Simpson Polo 14
Razors: Nowill & sons + GEM Junior (for head)
Soap: Tabac

Result: Very, very clean
This Nowill razor turned out to be a shaver as well as a locker (I think), lovely ivory scales and very little wear over all and a super smooth Sheffield edge

TUESDAY
Hot shower prep
Razor: Travalong collapsible DE razor
Blade: Gillette DE
Stropper/ Hone "Bon-Hur"
Soap: Dove
Mug: face lathered
Brush: Travel Brush boar
Aftershock: none
Splash: Avon "Wild Country"
Imagine being a salesman out in the boonies of rural America in the 20's, and 30's! I decided to show a few of the steps / missteps in the history of travel. The little "Travalong" does do a workman-like job...providing one does not take a trip to the emergency room from trying to assemble it!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quickerer!

Thanked: 485Tuesday
(I forgot to post this last night1)
I shaved with the De Pews this morning. I actually wasn’t looking forward to shaving with the De Pews. I know that sounds really silly. You’re probably thinking ‘How obsessive IS this guy about routine that he uses a razor when he doesn’t want to?’. Fair point, I must say, if you did think that. I’d felt that I’d ‘neglected’ the De Pews for some time, and should use it. I was thinking the other day that though there are several razors in my humble collection of six that are no longer wild favorites, I’d never get rid of them as they meant so much to me. I’m not actually talking about the razors, there. I’m talking about the process of acquiring them. There’s the first razor (a Burrell Top Flight 5/8 spike) the first swap (a Wade and Butcher 5/8 with Canadian maple scales; which is also representative of my first SRP friend), the first frameback (a Klas Törnblom; which is also representative of my SECOND SRP friend), then there’s the De Pews (my first Bugger-Of-A-Razor to hone razor), and then the other two frame backs (from the second friend and first ‘restored’ razors). Oh, there’s a seventh, the (from the second friend) first patterned scales razor. That’s second friend has me hooked, doesn’t he?
Anyway, as I was saying, the shave turned out quite nice. The edge was fine; not perfect but acceptable, and I enjoyed the curve of the tang. If you haven’t used a razor shaped like that and can do so, you should; it’s quite interesting.
Oh, I’d also like to say that yesterday’s shave (which I didn’t talk about) with the Burrell was completely different to this, nut noticeably so in the audio department rather than the tactile…

Razor: Le Grelot 6/8 evidé Strop: Ambrose Spanish Horse (20/60) Preshave: Castle Forbes Brush: Simpson KH3 lather: Nanny's Juniper Berry SS AS: Myrsol Agua Balsámica EdT: Aqua Classica Borsari di Parma Comments: I have not get a great lather form this soap, maybe my mistake, more water than the soap needed. But the razor has forgiven my fault, and I have obtain a very smooth shave. When I bought this Grelot from rasurpur, some years ago, I was afraid to not being able to get a sharp and comfortable edge as the razor had when the seller sent it to me, but now I have learned a lot, thanks to my forum mates, and this razor has and edge worth of the best of my shaves. The agua balsamica is may preferred Myrsol product, the scent of the rosemary, thyme and lavender is pleasant and spicy as I usually like. Borsari di Parma gives a citrusy and classy italian finish....When I remember thhe times of the cartridge and can goo,....how wrong was me!!!!
