    Tonight's shave:

    Warm Shower, Stephan's, warm oil
    Dirty Bird 1.5 Scuttle
    Custom badger brush
AOS Sandalwood Soap/AOS Scentless Shave Cream/Glycerine.
Brian Brown Custom Damascus, Barbers Notch
    SRDP1 Strop, 100 Laps
    Razorock aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Nivea After Shave balm

Nice shave, the edge on this razor is the best I have done. The AOS Soap and cream combination lathered very well.

Magnificent! What a gorgeous photo, of what appears to be a definitive "desert island" setup. Bravo!

NB: That brush looks delicious! and the razor... *sigh*

    -SOTD-

Top Flight Straight Razor (muted spike point)
    Semogue 830 Boar Brush
    Caswell Massey Sandalwood Preshave Oil
Eucris Shave Soap by Geo F. Trumper
    Old Spice Aftershave Splash (Vintage)

Great shave tonight!!! Finally got off my MWF kick today. I am sure I will get back on the Fat again but I like some diversity. The soap lathered up fairly well, not as thick as I like but I did short back strokes so the lather would pile up. I muted the spike point on the Top Flight too. I sliced myself several times and decided enough was enough. Nothing major but bad enough.

She shaved like a champ tonight. I am pleased to shave with a razor I honed, so satisfying. Btw, I read the ingredients list for the Massey Preshave which also contained the directions for its use. I did not realize the top of the bottle was an applicator. No getting your hands all greasy! Just slide the tip of the bottle across your face. So simple yet groundbreaking.

I now have a new favourite time & place for shaving: outdoors in the autumn. What a wonderful way to start the day.

Having picked up a nasty head cold that has since turned into an evil chest cold, I almost gave the shave a miss on that morning. But I am sure glad I didn't. There was a gentle wind, leaves falling, deer and wild turkeys wandering past. It was truly idyllic.

It was not a truly minimalist shave, but compared to the routine at home, it was relatively straightforward. And I was especially grateful to the kind soul who had at some point driven a nice big nail into this post. It was a decent height for attaching a strop, and *perfect* for cap snaffling.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I'm Back! I hadn't shaved since Friday, and the three day growth was due for extermination. I decided I'd go top shelf on this one, as I'm meeting with potential clients today. The soap was not such a hard choice. D.R. Harris always produces fine quality products, and the new Windsor scent is intoxicating. The Rover simply works. It attacks soaps yet has the softness and suppleness needed to handle the most finicky of cremes, it was easy to reach for. For the skin scraper, I had to use the artful yet wonderfully designed scaleless Maxtom. I'm glad I chose it. These three ingredients gave me a clean, soft, and smooth BBS in two passes plus touch ups. I knew the shave was flawless when the Lucido went on with that comfortable coolness. It all got wrapped up neatly with Yohji Yamamoto Homme. Of course, the bow didn't come until I tied my tie, but that's another story!
