10-18-2012, 11:30 AM #161QCS Key Lime - Zebrawood Silvertip - Zebrawood Bowl - Rolls Razor - Myrsol Agua De Limon
Day 3 with this Rolls Razor blade and after yesterdays shave I decided to try make it more comfortable by doing some honing on a barbers hone after the Rolls Razor hone. So, did it work?
Not really. Any increase in comfort was negligible. I think the jump between the Rolls Razor hone and the barbers hone may have been too great. That being said it still gave me a nice shave and if all I had was the Rolls Razor hone I could get by with it. I'm just after a little more comfort.
Anyway, for tomorrow I'll try out a honing the blade on some lapping film and see if it gets more comfortable.Keith

Pre: Hot Shower
Soap: D.R.Harris Arlington
Brush: Panchetta 30 mm Silvertip
Scuttle: SWK XL
Razor: c.a. 1850 W&B "Celebrated India Steel" -- Max Sprecher Restoration
Strop: 3" Black Latigo Bench Top
Post: Alum Block
AS: Pinaud Clubman
Happy Thursday everyone! Busy today, but kept the morning relaxing with a great shave. Pulled the Arlington from the back of the drawer. I'm not sure why I don't use this wonderful citrus scent soap more often. Whipped a fantastic scuttle full of lather and had a wonderful three pass shave. I love this big, wide chopper. It has a very unique monkey tail and I can always count on it for a great shave. Hang in there guys, it's almost the weekend. Stay safe my friends.

I was happy that the guy who made the brush and bowl suggested zebra wood. I was after a wood with good contrast between the wood and the grain. They turned out better than I had hoped.
A Rolls is no more difficult to shave with than a double edge or single edge. You should give it a go.Keith
