Thanked: 485Friday
Well, that week zoomed right past me! The morning’s shave was with the De Pews, two passes (WTG and ATG). I really do like this razor. When I first got it I had trouble stropping it; but I’m used to it now. I live the short wedgy blade and I love the way the shape of the tang puts the blade exactly where I want it. I also like the flowing aesthetic of the tang just to look at. Function and form do come together in this razor.
The cream was C O Bigalow. I wanted a fresh feel on a hot morning. I actually wanted icy cold water, but there was none in the fridge, so I went with just cold rather than icy cold. Not as nice as icy cold. If you want hot make it piping hot, if you want cold make it icy cold. Over do everything; that’s my motto…
Tunes was some Ladysmith Black Mombassa and other African music. Tunes on the way to work was The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The workout at lunchtime had me very close to vomiting...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

After taking the Bob Allman "Rhinoceros" to the stones during the NY/NJ meet, this set up gave me a luxurious and smooth shave. The edge was sharp, yet butter smooth! A perfect way to end the work week and prepare for a long weekend!

Strop - 3 inch bridle leather/hard felt
Razor - Puma 18 8/8 french tip
Soap - TBS Maca Root
Brush - Simpsons QE II Jubilee Manchurian badger
Post - Alum block followed with Thayers witch hazel
Crisp and clean cold water face lathered shave. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with other creams, that Maca Root is just plain nice. Hope you had as good a shave to end your week.

20 or so laps on the Naniwa 12k and this girl was ready to dance, 40 laps on the strop and an exceptional butter smooth shave. Wade and Butchers have a well deserved reputation, and this shave definitely brought that to the forefront.
Coupled with the mounds of lather produced by the Thater and Pannacrema and it's off to work feeling like a million.

Return of the prodigal son! In an attempt to convert one of my co-workers, I loaned this razor out 6 months or so ago. Try as I might this guy was just too scared to try it. He shaves his spud with one of those damn plastic hot wheels razors and constantly has pot holes and/or band aids. Imagine that too scared to use a Gilette Tech! Must be one of those new age, beta males (testicular fortitude optional)
The time off however doesn't appear to have affected how she shaves though. I loaded a new Dorco Stainless Steel blade and did a three pass shave, just for fun. Catfish belly smooth. The older I get, the better I was

Quick question: do any of your wives roll their eyes at you if they see you taking pics of your shave set ups? My wife is convinced I need to seek professional help. So, to all you professionals on SRP, gracias. Mission accomplished.Oscar
